Libby Reviews

“I sought advice from Libby because of a significant weight loss following an illness, subsequent operation and prolonged stay in hospital. Prior to seeing Libby, my weight had shown no signs of recovering but, following Libby's recommended changes to my diet, over a three month period I am now back to my pre operation weight. Additionally previous digestive symptoms have also been positively influenced, due, I am sure, to the dietary changes recommended by Libby. Friends and family all say how much better I am looking!” - Tom, Retired

Libby is a Functional Medicine Practitioner, registered Nutritional Therapist and founder of the Surrey Centre for Nutrition. Libby knows what it is like to search endlessly for answers, and also knows that with the right approach it really is possible to regain optimum health.

Libby's focus primarily is on helping those who have been struggling with a chronic autoimmune disease and often unexplained illness to regain a life of wellness by identifying the root cause of their symptoms and applying a functional and environmental medicine approach to nutrition. She also works with other aspects of immune imbalance such as allergy, food and chemical reactivity and intolerance, MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome), and has a special interest in digestive health and wellness, and the role of gut health on immune and neurological wellness.

“Before I started seeing Libby I was struggling with knowing what to eat, I was overweight and needed to lose weight. I was feeling frustrated, as I didn't know how to progress.

Working with Libby has given me control over what I eat in a positive and empowering way. I have learnt what works specifically for me and underlying issues which may have been holding me back. I have lost all the weight I wanted to, and more importantly I have an understanding of how to nourish my body long term.

If anyone is considering working with Libby, I would say go for it, I have found it more than worth the money as I am in a position now I never dreamt possible. There is so much information out there that it can be overwhelming and so working with someone who knows their stuff, and can guide you one-to-one takes away all the risk. I have achieved more in the 4 months I worked with Libby than I have in 5 years both physically and mentally, so yes, just go for it!” - Hannah

“Libby helped me to understand what's good for my body explaining everything in a very simple way. Her advice is doable and easy to employ and it focuses on the general well being rather than just weight loss. She's also very approachable and always available to reply to questions you might have once you've started changing your habits.” - Martina

“Libby's knowledge and expertise in nutrition has helped me greatly improve my life. She has enabled me to better understand the connection between my body and what I fuel it with, which has led to increased vital energy levels. I highly recommend Libby to anyone seeking to improve their health and well-being.” - Raj, Actor

“Libby has given me practical help with developing a more rounded approach to food, one that also impacts on my entire wellbeing. I have always been susceptible to emotional eating and making snap choices in times of stress. Libby has given me tips to make considered choices and has helped shift my thinking to a position of nourishment, rather than starving myself. I have goals to lose some weight and re-balance my blood sugars and Libby's solid advice is helping me make that achievable and part of my everyday life”. - Sarah, Digital Producer

“Libby is a very professional nutritionist whose advice led me to completely transform my eating habits. I felt a huge benefit in my overall health and energy levels following the tailored dietary and supplement protocol Libby created for me. I would recommend Libby’s services to anyone” - Rory

“We are so grateful to Libby for her help guiding us through improving our two children’s diets and nutritional intake. She has been so thorough, giving us practical advice that is realistic to implement and specific to the needs and personalities of our children. We have made so many positive changes in our household since starting the course, with noticeable benefits for all of the family. Thank you”. - Lizzie

“Libby has helped me enormously with my post Covid Issues that I’d suffered with for nearly 2 years when I contacted her. The nutrition advice and supplements she prescribed have helped my immune system calm down and respond more efficiently. Covid also caused havoc with my gut and her protocols have helped get me back on track. However, I really feel that the biggest benefit from Libby’s consultations is that she has educated me in living in a holistic manner, taking a whole-body approach to my health. I only wish I’d met Libby years ago”. - Robert

Sam Reviews

Trained in the Functional Medicine approach - highly personalised, holistic and science-informed - Sam’s particular areas of interest are THYROID conditions and ME/CFS, post-viral fatigue/Long Covid. Her approach recognises the interplay of the digestive, endocrine, nervous and immune systems in these complex conditions.

Sam is also a Referral Practitioner with The Chrysalis Effect, ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia Recovery Specialists, and a member of The Thyroid Collective, founded by Jules Chandler, The Thyroid Expert.

"Working with Sam has been life-changing for me"

"At the start of Sam’s programme, I was in a right mess – exhausted and permanently fatigued, experiencing rampant food intolerances, problems with memory concentration and focus, a non-functioning sleep cycle and an inability to make decisions. Now, six months later, I am starting to enjoy life again: planning to move house in the next year, able to sleep through the night sometimes and wake rested, able to eat a wider range of foods consistently without becoming ill afterwards, still weary but without the chronic exhaustion that was so debilitating.
Working with Sam has been life-changing for me. She is an able listener and effective at adjusting the pace of the programme to work with my super-sensitive system. Working with her feels like a partnership – her objectivity, extensive knowledge and experience allied to my willingness to do what it takes." - A

"Sam has been a godsend"

"I have a 'borderline' underactive thyroid and I wanted to try and avoid taking medication for as long as possible. I don't suffer with too many 'typical' underactive thyroid symptoms, however my system was very sluggish and I just felt like I needed an energy boost.

Sam has been a godsend, I thought I knew a lot about the thyroid but I have learnt so much from her and she explains it all so well without blinding me with science! My symptoms have improved and I feel like the old me again having made a few dietary changes and starting a supplement regime that supports me at the moment. Sam answers any questions I have, however silly they might seem and always follows up with an email (which I value especially as I suffer with brain fog from time to time)." - Toria

Julia Reviews

Julia Young is Registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in fertility. She is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CHNC) and the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT). Julia helps couples struggling to conceive to realise their dream of having a family. Julia offers personalised nutrition and lifestyle support and believes in the importance of getting to the root cause of people’s fertility issues.

Having gone through fertility struggles herself, Julia is passionate about supporting couples and women with their fertility and hormonal issues. Julia has a special interest in supporting preconception care, IVF preparation, unexplained infertility, amenorrhea, PCOS, endometriosis and secondary infertility.

"I can't even begin to describe how Julia has helped us.

I had suffered a miscarriage, we wanted answers but had no idea where to start. I reached out to Julia on recommendation. It was the best and smartest move we made on our fertility journey. Julia not only helped us both with being in the best possible shape we could be, she helped us identify exactly what our problem was by signposting us to various healthcare professionals and by carrying out various tests. In my case this led to the discovery of an underactive thyroid which I had never even considered, as I was totally unaware of having symptoms, but Julia knew! And in the case of my husband, Julia helped us to get semen analyses which led us to discover low morphology and DNA fragmentation (terms I had never heard of prior to working with Julia!) but things we now know to be extremely important. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and we consider Julia to be the most pivotal person in making this happen (aside from the two of us of course!), without Julia, we would not be here.

The nutritional advice that Julia gives is absolutely brilliant, tailored to each individual, evidence-based, and incredibly easy to follow. I am in the best shape I have been in in years and regardless of the fertility benefits, people have been commenting on my skin and hair having been improved (and this was prior to being pregnant!) A sign to me that it is totally true that what you put into your body has a major effect on how healthy you are in every way - including, but not limited to, fertility.

Julia is far more than a nutritional therapist. I went to her expecting to have some help with my diet and lifestyle, and what we got was infinitely more valuable. Fertility is a dark and twisted labyrinth but Julia has seen it all and knows exactly which path to take next to find your way out and get you to your ultimate goal, your baby. We are forever grateful." - Aleiya and Michal

Orley Reviews

Orley is a fully qualified BANT registered nutritional therapist who qualified at the College for Naturopathic Medicine in 2016. Her specific interests lie in weight management including obesity and disordered eating, type 2 diabetes and blood glucose regulation.

Orley was drawn to this area following her own lifelong struggles with weight and body image, and her work as an NHS diabetes prevention coach, where she witnessed first-hand the positive effects of diet and lifestyle on blood glucose levels. She has successfully worked with clients on reversing their pre-diabetes and bringing their type 2 diabetes under better control. Orley brings her passion, commitment, years of experience and specialist training to help clients achieve their health and weight management goals.

“I came in having no idea where to start with building healthy eating habits.

Orley was great at reframing healthy eating in the context of a lifestyle change, as opposed to some quick fix. She gave me an understanding of the science of nutrition and helped me figure out how to make the best decisions for myself without the overly restrictive or 'off-limits' approach of diet regimes (which don't work!). I finished feeling truly equipped to eat in a way that makes me feel good, but without feeling limited.

Before I started working with Orley, I was suffering from headaches, I was feeling very sluggish and extremely bloated. 5 weeks on and my headaches have been non-existent, my bloatedness is gone and I also feel much more energetic. I never saw the programme as diet, it was more of an educational process- learning about nutritional values of foods and how different foods can be contributing to how I feel. I saw it as a journey and it was a great investment into my health and physical wellbeing.

Working with Orley has helped to shift my focus away from losing weight and onto my overall health – and this has helped me to lose weight. I really enjoyed that there was no calorie counting after being on so many restrictive diets to lose weight. I felt safe to eat as much as I needed to without worrying so much and focussing on the losing weight part – I was focussing on getting healthy and discovering what worked for me, which made the whole process actually enjoyable.

Working with Orley has definitely changed the way I am eating in general and I have made lifetime changes. Orley gave me excellent tips, excellent advice, and helped me to feel motivated.  I feel more energised, I have lost some weight, my skin is glowing and I and feel generally healthier!”

“I was lucky to meet Kate Lee around the time I was diagnosed with gallstones. We originally intended to work together on my gallstones, weight and hormonal issues but by the time of our first session my gallstones had become such a large issue that they eclipsed everything else.

I do not know how I would have got through my gallstone issues and surgery without Kate’s support. She told me what I could eat to manage the gallstones and support my liver. She suggested supplements to help me. The sessions I had with her were very thorough. She always explained everything to me in detail, so I understood why I was making the changes and learned a lot about nutrition and healthier eating habits. She consistently went above and beyond what I expected - promptly answering worried emails from me outside of our sessions, interpreting blood test results for me (including highlighting when my GP had tested for the wrong thing!) She helped me prepare for surgery and supported me before and after it.

All of my interactions with Kate left me feeling supported, understood, cared for and empowered. Dealing with major health issues is lonely and scary, having Kate in my corner made me feel I could cope.

I would highly recommend working with her. Although the gallstones took over, the changes she has helped me make mean I have also lost weight and my hormones are more steady. I feel my health has massively improved overall due to Kate’s input.”- Anna H

“Kate offers a nurturing and empowering journey towards better health. She was clear and focussed about my goals and it really helped me to define these at the start of our work together. Kate is very supportive and I really appreciated the time she took to listen to what was going on for me in a caring and non-judgmental way. I found that Kate’s flexible approach to the sessions really worked in that sessions could be shorter or longer as I required, and it felt good to have several months together to see if symptoms had improved over that time period.

The protocols Kate set up for me were incredibly thorough but never overwhelming. Being a detail person, I appreciated the amount of information Kate sent through so I could understand what it was we were looking to achieve as well as the how and why. The DUTCH test that Kate initiated was easy to do and hugely informative - but without Kate to explain what the results meant I would have been lost. So it really was Kate’s support and deep knowledge of nutrition and hormones that made the most difference.

Thank you Kate for supporting me into a place of better and more balanced health.” - Ruth M

“I had spent many years wondering what to do about my health naturally, without the doctors always prescribing medications. I had many diagnoses given to me including PCOS and depression. I was feeling very unsure about nutrition and my overall health, always wondering what is wrong with me? Why am I not normal? Who am I?

But with the help of Kate over the last 6 months I now know Who I am, how to keep myself healthy and most importantly how to love myself. Remembering we all have low days and that is ok...you just got to ride that wave! Kate taught me about my diet and how my body responds to what I put into it!!  Kate was always there for me when I had many many many questions to ask. Kate is a life changing woman who I am very thankful to have met and would recommend highly. Thank you Kate for changing my life.” Gemma

Angie Reviews

Angie is a fully qualified naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, who qualified at the College of Naturopathic Medicine and trained in Functional Medicine at the Institute of Functional Medicine. She is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CHNC) and the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT)

She uses an understanding of how our body systems operate and interact with each other and then maps symptoms to the causes of ill health. Through these methods she gains a comprehensive perspective of the complex, chronic health issues that you are experiencing, enabling her to create personalised nutrition, supplement and lifestyle modifications to transform your health and support you to achieve a vibrant life.

“I am extremely lucky to have found Angie Ash when I did. I have MS, have got through breast cancer, was in a toxic relationship and was at a point where divorce and my house-sale were happening... lots of stress in the mix then. PLUS I was losing weight even though I was underweight already and my gut wasn’t working properly.

I decided to do the American thing and put together a little team to help me get through it all. Angie was one of the first ones on it and is kind, knowledgeable, friendly and very good at what she does. I tested positive for SIBO (which with her support is now resolved), Epstein Barr Virus and Lyme Disease (and a few other co-infections). She also supported me with an underactive thyroid and worked to detoxify my body.

Angie knows her stuff, is kind, friendly and caring. My CD57 (immune Lyme marker) is now nearly in the normal range and my immune system has woken up and is now doing it’s job again. Our consultations covered all aspects of health not just the physical body but the emotional and mental wellbeing too. It all worked well for me – she opened doors to things that I just wasn't aware of. She's made a massive difference to my life, not only in terms of my physical health but also in the context of ideas on how to get through trauma. Truly amazing. - R.O. Ceredigion, Wales

“When I first came to see Angie I was experiencing considerable fatigue, brain fog, headaches and joint pain that had greatly affected my ability to live a normal life.

I am so happy to have found Angie, with her support and knowledge she helped me discover why I was experiencing chronic illness Lyme Disease and Genetic Haemochromatosis.

I feel very at ease and able to discuss my health issues and symptoms with Angie. Working with Angie to tackle my Lyme Disease moved my CD57 (Borrelia specific immune marker) into the normal range (41 to 287) and I now have more energy, less headaches and joint pain, improved quality of sleep and better understanding of my body. I can now see the light and start to live more of a normal life. I would 10/10 recommend Angie to other people.” - J.M., Worcester

“I went to Angie with gastrointestinal discomfort issues, stress, energy dips in the afternoon, headaches, trouble concentrating on activities like tv, terrible eczema on my hands and some disordered eating.

Angie took a thorough history from me and really worked to understand the cause of my problems. We did some functional testing and found that I had SIBO, low iron, low B12, non optimal thyroid function and we identified some emotional issues.

Angie put a thorough step-by-step plan in place to address my issues, but in a way that didn’t overwhelm me all at once, and I started on a great supplement plan, alongside including foods that wouldn’t cause me any issues, and excluding those that would.

Angie also recommended a fantastic trauma therapist who has been life-changing for me.

I am still a work in progress but my eczema has been kept at bay - the cracking and blistering has gone. My GI symptoms have improved, as have my headaches. I am not having energy dips and can focus more. I have also lost 15lbs.

I can’t recommend Angie enough! She is very experienced and knowledgeable. Thanks Angie!” - Anna
